Sorry for the basic question, but my searches have not been definitive. It seems like my big block wants a little more advance than a small block. What would be a typical range for initial timing?

Thanks.

Ben 16-20 in. no vac. advance hooked up with 36-40 total by 3400 RPM is usually what these beasts want. Good luck!

Great, thanks guys. It seemed like it wanted closer to 20 than 10. All I remember is what the small blocks usually get. None of my big block stuff said anything. Thanks again! graemlins/thumbsup.gif
