Just recently began to overheat after replacing cam and vacuum advanced distributor, crappy compression on 6, and 2, overheated so much that it split the upper radiator hose, and blew most of the coolant out, was told it's a head gasket sucking, but think that i have a burnt valve exhaust or intake, and a fried piston, could be?
Redid all the vacuum lines for the carb. has the original rochester quadrajet, and preforms crappily as they all do (doorstops), have searched high and low for a fix, or motor..

Don't know.. Any leads on a easy drop in 600.00 350/350bhp engine? God forbid someone help me..
Am military and getting ready to exit the service and pray someone is out there with answers. graemlins/angry.gif graemlins/clonk.gif

OK, may not be what you wanna hear but I guess I would beg, borrow or rent a set of tools and do a valve job on her!!

Not much cost unless you have a bad head or two which you would need to fix anyway unless you find a good cheap replacement 350 motor.. Which I doubt you will b/c to me, good and used/cheap kinda don't go together, or at least for me!!

Please keep us posted on what you do.. Good luck, pdq67

PS., and a Northern Automotive 350 kit is dirt cheap so you can throw one of them in it and to just get by do a dingle-berry hone overhaul and go on down the road until times allow better...

AND this has worked for me several times in my life... BUT I NEVER BEAT ON MY CHEAP "SHADE-TREE" OVERHAULS AT ALL!!!!! Bu they sure got me back and forth to work for a long time....

Dont knock Q-jets, I seen them spank everything from holley to demon on the street. One of the best designed carbs built for street use imo...

I'd say your blaming a **** pour engine on the carb, its not the carbs fault that the heads are cracked...
