: EFI Sensor selection

I'm trying to get my arms around the plethora of aftermarket and OEM sensors for EFI that all seem to do the same thing.

Let's focus on the Idle Air Control (IAC).

I have an LS1 throttle body. It's aftermarket, but we can just call it "LS1" for now, right?
What all years have an LS1 motor? Where any of those boosted from the factory (CTS-V perhaps?)
I have a FAST XFI controller, but still yet, that should be pretty generic, right?

FAST sells the IAC for LS1 for about $80.

Autozone sells an IAC for a 99 Pontiac Firebird (LS1) for $105. p/n AC145

Autozone also sells an IAC for a 2002 Corvette from holley performance parts piece for $54. p/n 543-2

Is the LS6 that different for the IAC part than an LS1 ?

So which one do I get?
Same question for Throttle Position sensor, and even Manifold Air Pressure (3 bar for me). I found an OEM solution that is $37 (1992 pointiac sunfire 2.0L turbo).

Sadly, I do not have acces to LS1 tech at work. :(

Does the LS6 use a remotely located IAC? I think the sellers just put one picture of one IAC up for all products related to an IAC. Maybe that's what is making my brain hurt.

LS6s didn't have IACs. C5 and C6 Corvettes all use drive by wire throttle bodies. The computer controls idle with the main blades. IACs are only used on cable actuated throttle bodies.

I am having a little trouble understanding what it is you are really asking.

If you have a TB without an IAC and you need an IAC, its really simple.
For a stepper motor type IAC (GM, ford uses servo ) There are quite a few different factory cars that had a bolt on IAC housing. You use one of those mounted to a small flat plate of aluminum with 2 hoses attached. One goes to the maifold, one goes upstream of the throttle blades.
I'm building 2 engines right now that are set up this way. So far I have only around 20 bucks spent on each IAC.

If you're TB is LS1 style and you are using a FAST controller all the sensors will be GM type.

I have found that amazon has the absolute best prices on AC Delco parts. Check ACDelco.com for the part number for the IAC search on 2002 Camaro LS1, then find that number on amazon.

All the GM sensors have the same output curves, EG temp vs voltage and differ only in mounting style. ETC sensor for example could have a 3/8npt or a 13mm metric thread depending on application. If the sensor is going into a old school BBC or SBC look for BBC truck EFI sensors up to 2000.

Hope this helps
