I just put an edelbrock carb on my 350 and once it warms up to running temp it doesnt want to crank.it didnt do this with my holley carb does anyone know what the problem could be.also when adjusting rockers with engine running i tighten mine down until they quit pecking and then go a 1/4 of a turn more. should i tighten them down farther than that or not any help would be appreciated.

Lets see, first off there is a better and easier way to set your valves without the engine running. Bump motor over until the exhaust valve starts to OPEN>>>>then adjust the intake to zero lash ( should be no up or down movement of the pushrod)then tighten 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Bump motor over again to when the intake is almost CLOSED>>>>>adjust the exhaust the same as the intake.....continue with the other 7 cylinders.
Now as far as the carb issue.....what do you mean by CRANK???? Does it turn over but not start???? Does it not crank over at all??? Need more input to further help you in this issue.

Check your timing - if it's a little too advanced, a "hot soak" condition will make it harder to turn over. Also, adjust your hydraulic valves 1 full turn after the clacking stops. Do it slowly and let each lifter pump back up before going on to the next one. Good luck!

realistically, a change of carb will not affest the cranking... But as Chelkamino stated, we need to know more...
Is the starter not turning over the engine at all, or very slowly? That would be electical ,maybe a hot binding starter motor (bad motor or loose inside, or too close to headers), bad cables/connections, bad ground (engine to frame to battery)...
If its spinning over quickly and just won't fire, you may need tuning of the carb...

it turns over fine just like it does before it gets to running temp it just doesnt want to start.you have to turn it over 2 or 3 times and give it more gas before it will start
