I just purchased original 40 series for my BB Chevelle and was told they are "really load". Is that the case? Are they too loud and does anyone have any personal experience with them. Would you recommend perhaps the 50 or 70 series?????

Thanks. Duff

IMO they are definitely on the loud side, but sound great behind a big motor if you like your cars loud. Did I mention they're loud? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

My neighbor across the street has a BB 72 El Camino with 2-chambers and you can hear it coming from a block away. Sounds nice and raspy but LOUD.

Loud is good! I have a set of Flows 42553 three camber with Torque Tech 2.5 pipes out the back and I love'um.Switching from headers to stock manifolds and installing a crossover should mellow it down some.It has a good sound at WOT! --Kid

Have you checked out the Flowmaster web site (http://www.flowmastermufflers.com)? They have loudness graphs for each series they make plus sound clips you can listen to.

Well, I purchased the original 40 series with flo's 2 1/2 tail pipes. Probably going to add the H pipes. I'm looking for that rumble..... Sure sounds like I'm going to get it and then some!!!

Thanks for all your comments.
