I'm having a problem with the engine wanting to surge while I'm in drive and stopped. I suspect it might be a few things, but I'm wondering if the carb is too rich since it didnt really become noticable until I jetted up. The other thing I need to check is the tranny fluid since I think it's about a quart low. I'm also wondering if my converter might be too tight.

Anyway, I was hoping that someone here could give me some guidance.

What do you mean by "surging?" I don't know if it might be similar, but, with my car in drive while idling at a stop or red light...the whole car *sometimes* will start jumping and shaking like "she" doesn't wanna be there. Feels a little weird and crazy, but I love it cause I know the people in the cars around me are probably tripping out or freaking out tongue.gif :D

Almost like "creeping", or "lunging" forward. I bumped up the idle speed just a little bit, and that seemed to help. It's almost like my coverter is too tight, which it might be. It could be the cam too, since it's quite a bit bigger than I'm used to.

Thanks!

Yeah, I noticed when I raise my idle that "jumping" at idle goes away. Right now it's idling roughly around 750-800rpms, when it idles at 850+ I don't seem to notice it "jump."

My 66 did the same thing. I made a few carb adjustments and it was fine.
