I need some advice on what combo to use on my new 383 motor. I have 70 chevelle that just blew the motor. I have 383 motor that was going to be for my 65 chevelle but It got pushed into action for my daily driver. I have the original Q-jt with manifold( just rebuilt) that I can use or I have a air gap edelbrock that i can use. What carb should I use for this motor? It will be a daily driver but I dont want to starve the motor. oh and by the way what torque conveter should i use? Torkmaster 2400?TCI breakaway?
thanks

You don't need much carb for a daily driver. Think about it... You don't spend much time at wide open throttle, so the CFM rating of the carb is irrelevant at cruise speeds. You probably won't even be into the secondaries very often.

I'm running a 600cfm 4150 on my .040 over 350 with a mild solid cam. Works great. The engine hits 6500 fast enough for me. I'm setting up a 750 for my 383 since it needs to pump more air at lower RPM's, but I still think the 600 would work just fine for daily driving.

The engine won't "starve".
