After reading Todd's post regarding his 454 question (454 Decode 10 Sec BUE), got me thinking about the numbers on my block. Front Pad ce J 112515, Block Casting 14015445 with a date code H 19 3. Head Casting Pass Side 3462236 Date J 20 3. Driver Side Identical Except Date Code G 21 3. Another note of Interest is that it has Two Threaded Holes above the oil filter and no VIN# Stamp. Any idea what this motor is? I know it is a 454, and I have not pulled the pan yet.

14015445 = 78-90 2 or 4 bolt 454
H 19 3 = Aug 19 83
346236 = 75-87 oval, open chamber, 454, 120cc chamber, 225/116cc ports
J 20 3 = Oct 20, 1983
J 21 3 = Oct 21, 1983

I cannot decode the ce J112515 on the pad.

Seems you have a 1983 454 intact, probably installed in a early 1984 vehicle.
