OK guys I did something very stupid the other day in the 64 SS Malibu. I accidentally shifted into low gear at 65 MPH. Now the car wont start. HELP graemlins/angry.gif
I have tried a new rotor button, coil, cap, and wires. Used a multimeter to check the old coil and it was good. I have no spark on the number one plug no matter what I do.
Question: On the negative side of the coil, using a multimeter, is the ground supposed to open when the key is turned to the on position?
Also, I've been told a few other things.
Can over-revving the engine strip out the distributor gear?
Can the timing chain skipping a few teeth keep the car from having spark?(I know this is a dumb question)
Also, I am using a Crane XR-i points to electronic conversion on the distributor.
