Well, all LS7's were crate engines, as none ever came OEM installed in a car. Many long years ago when I was selling LS7's over the parts counter we always told customers they were rated at 465 hp (I can't remember what torque we quoted, maybe 500ish). With 12.5:1 compression I hope you have a steady supply of the kind of fuel not found at the corner gas station.

What is it worth? Well, what did you pay? When money has changed hands then that is exactly what something is "worth", at least to the parties involved. Perhaps you are asking about value because you don't think the seller was not asking as much as you would have been willing to pay. Let me suggest that the man who knows little about what he has bought, outside of the legendary engine code, may have been dealing with a seller who knew when to keep his mouth shut.

None of the above is meant to detract from what you have bought, best of luck with whatever you plan on doing.

As a side note about LS7 engines: they were made in limited runs periodically, and build quality had its ups and downs. I advised customers to pull the pan and at least double check the bottom end clearances before installing it in their boat or hot rod.
