Hey guys, i pulled the heads yesterday because of a head gasket issue and noticed something about the exhaust valves. They were drastically different colors. This is a small journal 327 with early 327 heads. This was on the left or passenger side head. The number 2 cylinder valve was almost a light brown or dark tan color. The middle two cylinders number 4 and 6 were almost a whitish grey, and the last cylinder number 8 was also white but had almost a strange green tint to it. I think the last one might be becuase when i pulled the head coolant got into the cylinder, but the first one is pretty drastically different. I pulled the heads because of a coolant leak out of the front of the block near the number 2 cylinder. Would this be why it is brown as opposed to the others being more whitish grey? What would do something like this? Thanks a lot guys.
