: Anyone having an issue with the forums not loading??

Dave Birdwell

The last couple days, I've had trouble with the site not loading the whole forum page, or threads. I usually right-click and open the next page or forum in a new tab. Most times it stops loading after the upper blue toolbars load. Occasionally the rest of the page will load after 30-45 seconds. REfreshing sometimes will load the page, sometimes not.

Anyone else having issues loading pages??

(I know this is a site discussion topic, but please leave it here for a couple days to get some traffic.... thanks!)

I knew it couldn't be just me. This is the only forum that is doing it to me. All the other ones I frequent are ok.

Thanks! :beers:

Slower for me too. Other sites aren't though. Usually, with a "site is slow" thread I can't say it applies to me. But in this case, yes, slower.

Looks like "they" need to do a little work on the disk(s)..... look to be REALLY full or fragmented. And, all the cutesy, ads don't help......... especially the ones that aren't structured correctly.

I had the same slow loading last night. All other sites load normal.

I logged in at work tonight and figured it was the computer. First time I tried on that computer before.

Yep...same here. It's doing on both Team Chevelle and Team Camaro. Any other site that I go to loads normally...:beers:

Yup same here. Slow to load. That waiting for...appears to be a geo based ad delivery system.

I didn't move the thread, where was it, bench racing?

I had a little bit of slow loading a couple of times but not that bad.

Dean, yep, in bench racing.

Of the 6 times I tried to get on today from 4 different computers in two different cities which are 60 miles apart...I was only successful once...right now. I waited more than 40 seconds for either Team Camaro or Team Chevelle to load....then gave up.

Kinda frustrating, since I wanted to respond to a PM...but couldn't...LOL:yes:

It's definitely something on the autoforums servers.

That's all I got:D

Most times for me, all that loads is the header and banners.

Its frustrating as hell. I thought that when AF took over they touted the new whiz bang server TC was on. Whys the site 10 times slower then.

When they see the traffic drop, maybe they will do something....

Yeah ,slow here too.
Have noticed that the # of tracking sites has doubled in the past few weeks on this site.
Might have something to do with it.

slow, very slow here too. But, if I disable Active Scripting (using IE7) the pages load FAST. Ever since Autoforums bought this joint out, the pages have been slow with all the crappy ads and junk. annoying.

Update adobe and it will now load much faster. My guess is they updated their "ads" to a later version of FLASH...and anyone with an out of date flash player is getting the slow loading....

I'll check back in a week or so. Maybe it will be better by then..... or maybe not.

No troubles here. Firefox 3.6, Adobe Reader 9.4. As for the ads, once I discovered Adblock Plus for Firefox, ads are a thing of the past.

Even with adblock plus it still takes forever and the lower left corner always says waiting for or transferring from googleads. Do we really need 5 ads on each page?

Could be the ads. Yahoo is notorious for getting hung up by ad sites that aren't responding.

Refresh often cures it, because a different bunch of ads are selected. If the same ads are coming up each time, then you're stuck waiting until the ad sites respond or maybe even forever (which, I hear, is a long, long time).

This is the first time this site has been slow for me also. I know its all the adds on her you can see them getting hung up on the load page.
Sure would be nice to see all the FUC##ING adds gone from this site.

Don't base today on just this site.
Latency and ping tests I've been doing all weekend are showing the 'net's having some issues with connectivity.
Net's slowed down a bunch since Friday.

Horrible for the past week on this site only. Also sometimes when I click the back arrow in my brower Im taking completey off the site instead of the last page I was looking at. This is the only site that does this.

mine has been really slow to load the page on this website for the past couple weeks. Bottom left corner says it is waiting on various components to download. using foxfire with ad block plus on home and IE8 on computer at work, both are having the same slow loading speed. not having the issue on any other websites. sometimes I just close it out go to somewhere else.

Same issue here. looks like it is trying to connect to some site named b.scorecardresearch.com which is not responding. That one either times out or eventually responds, then the page will load...
