ok i have read alot of posts about what frame will fit on each car. My question is i have a 64 chevelle conv. and looking for a frame.
What is the difference between a boxed frame and a hardtop frame?? I understand that the boxed frame is stronger. but i dont know what it looks like. I have been looking at alot of frames online and they all look the same. could someone maybe send me a picture of a reg. frame and a boxed frame so i can see the difference. or can someone give me the idiots guide to the difference. LOL
thanks for any info you can give me.

Hello Jason,
Here's an explanation in its' simplest form: The frame rails on a "standard" frame are shaped like a "c" with the open side facing towards the center of the car. The rails on a boxed frame are enclosed so that they form a rectangular tube.
Convertibles have boxed frames because without a solid roof, they need the extra rigidity that a boxed frame provides. Trucks generally have boxed frames as well including our El Caminos.
