I am in the final stages of assembly after painting my 1969 Convertible and discovered that the rear quarter window tracks are different from a 2dr hardtop vs the convertible? It is stopping me from getting my interior done and the new top put on, anyone have a line on where I might find a set???

The top mounting bolts are 5 1/2" on center where the 2 doors hardtop are 5" on center?

Any help would be appreciated.

i am almost sure they are the one and the same.my 69 vert was a wrecked shell when i bougth it but it had the driver side window/window track still install.i picked up a pair of original quarters panels off a coupe to install on the car.when i took the tracks out of the coupe quarters i compaired them to the convertibles.from what i remember they were the same.but if you say the bolts holes are off 1/2" if you compair them side by side.you might be right.since it was over 2 years ago when i looked at them.
the thing is i am almost at the same faise of my project as you are.after i finish cutting and buffing my car its assembly time for me.for some reason i remember looking in the fisher assembly manual and it showing that the were the same.for the life of me i want to say they are but then again i am not a 100% positive.let me know because i am right behind you.

you will prob need the regulator and glass from a conv. coupe quarter windows slighly different, just like 65-65. not sure about 66-67 or 70-72. i am in your same situation. i have not shopped for 68-69 conv regulators but 64-65 conv qtr regulators are avail every now and then (once or twice a year) on various sites. i am not at your stage yet. i believe we discused this recently for a 69, exact issue, try doing a search. try e-bay, this site, craiglist and any other site. good luck, post some pics too.

Thank you, any help you can provide would be great! From what I can tell the track looks the same it is the top mounting part that appears to be different?

ok i went thru my box of parts today to look the convertible/coupe rear quarter track.now i looked them up in the fisher service manual and the picture of the rear track is the same for both coupe and converible.so i assumed they where one in the same.so upon a closer look at the two parts i found that they are different but only at the top bracket.the nuts on the converitble bracket are adjustible and can slide side to side.where as the coupe top bracket points are fixed.every thing else about the track is the same.here is some pictures of the 2 tracks side by side so you can see the difference.i think if you were in a pinch you could make the top bracket out of 16ga sheetmetal.just a thought

Thank you, without having the actual brackets that I was needing I was guessing at what the difference was. If I need to I think as you stated I could make the top bracket. Thank you again.

Maybe when your car was new, lol
I think the reason the brackets are different is because they need to float with the convertible top when it is in the down position and has more adjusting for the top.
