the top engine was running EFI and 5 of the 6 top engines were running EFI.
some say the rules were skewed to allow efi to dominate. others say efi won fair and square.
what school of thought are you?
IMO, if you are gonna allow efi engines to run unlimited CFM throttle bodies and single planes, the carbed engines should also be allowed to run unlimited size carb and single plane intakes.

I had some involvement with one team. I'd say the rules were skewed for sure to pretty much make you have to run EFI to be competitive. That being said, I believe I could make an engine be competitive with EFI with open carb rules. Just like you don't slap an out of the box carb on and engine masters engine, you don't just "slap EFI on" as well.
Although if carbs could be any size and have any manifold, I"d want to be able to install injectors on any intake I want and where I want. The rules requires the injector bungs to be as cast.

To any one who knows:
Any specs on the winning engine & which team?
-----------------------------------------------
Any rules re: ignitions?
Any ignition systems more prevalent
than others...esp. w/the EFI engines?
----------------------------------------------
What brand/model of EFI on the winner?
Any EFI system used more than others...what brands were used?
-------------------------------------------------------------
TIA!! :)

I hope that the rules are equalized next year. I appreciate them giving the advantage to EFI this year to force the carb guys to see what they can do with efi but now that theyve proven that EFI can keep up, I want to see an even playing field.
