Right now i have an edlebrock performer 750cfm on my 327/TH350 right now.(Stock heads, slightly mild cam, RPM AirGap intake, MSD ignition 6A box, hooker comp headers, dual 40 series flows. 2.5in pipe) I do not like my edlebrock. i'm looking into buying a BG speed demon (Vaccum Sec, Elec. Choke) i'm leaning towards the 650cfm because i think that 750 might be too much carb. My motor definitly does not like the edlebrock. graemlins/angry.gif Any suggestions on sticking w/ the 650? Any comments about the speed demon, problems? Any input would be great.

In my opinion the 650 would be perfect for your application.

On my last 327 that was in my El Camino it was a modest piece. 041 Castings , Performer , ported ex manifolds , A Crane F218/2933-12 mechanical cam , a RG ST10 288/191/133/100 and 3.07's.I used several different carbs.

The Edelbrock 1406 (600 CFM ) even with extensive tuning wouldnt pull past 4500 RPM.... Ran great but just died at 4500....

Had a 0-3310 (750 diaphram sec Holley ) that a friend let me borrow.... Again plenty of tuning and it was just too big....

I tried a Holley 0-8007 (390 CFM Diaphram Sec) I modified it some and converted it to a 4150 and stepped up the jet 4 numbers / 10.5 PV and a plain spring with a .028 discharge nozzle with a green cam...... My GAWD.... Thing pulled 6000 RPM with ease....The engine went absoutly NUTS between 4000 and 6000 RPM.....Ran as well as the other carbs down low but the mid to top end was way better than the other carbs..... I guess my engine simply couldnt use 600 CFM but could use 400 CFM.That carb flat out ran better than either of the other two.

With you haveing 3.73's I would think something in the 500 to 650 range would be plenty.
