Looking for a 350 block. Don't care about 4 bolt mains. Just want to know what years to avoid.
I know that some of the heads got lightened up around 1975 or so. Did they do the same things with the blocks?
What is a fair price for a virgin block?
Long block?

Mike,
Depends on what you are trying to do, power-wise. I personally think that for 99% of street and mild bracket motors...any block is fine. A lot of the dirt track guys that we do work for have started using the late model, one piece seal blocks and they are not having any problems. They are making about 400hp and running the things all out for 25 or 30 laps, thats more death than we will ever put on one.
If you are going to build a "serious" motor, I would just buy a Dart Little M block and be done with it. By the time you buy a good core, and have all the machine work done to it, you will spend almost as much.

Thanks Bill. I'll just go with anything then.
