I have a 64 SS convertible and want to purchase a boot. Not sure of all of the items I need. I just installed new pinch weld trim. What do I need to purchase, besides the actual boot, to complete this project? If you know of a vendor that provides these items at the best price, that would be appreciated also. Thanks for any help you can provide for me.

I got an original boot with mine and it has snaps. The SS trim around the rear has the male portion of the snaps with SS screws that go through the trim into the pinch weld holding them in place.I have no idea what the reproductions use to hold them in place but snaps would be original.

Thanks ! Anybody know anything about the aftermarket clips that attach to the pinch weld moulding ? And what do I need to attach the boot to the back seat. I have heard of slide rails, velcro, etc. Just curious of what I need to buy to install a boot. I want to have my ducks in a row and purchase everything at one time and get it done.

OPGI has them but the catalog is wrong, The 66 clips in the book fit 64-65 and the ones they have listed for 64-65 fit 66s. So order clips part# CL5001* for your car. They fit great. NPD has some cheaper but they kept coming off.

I just got a boot for my 64 & it came with the velcro strip to hold the front edge down, this attaches to the metal strip on the top of the seat back. If that piece is missing they are also available.
I too have just rec'd a new pinchweld mldg & I sure don't want to put any screws in it if I don't have to. I got some clips to hold the boot to the mldg but they are metal & will scratch the mldg & chip the paint!
I guess I should phone OPGI to make sure I get the right clips as they are expensive little puppies!

Thanks for your help. I do not have that strip on the back of the seat. So I will search for that piece along with some clips that hopefully won't damage the trim.

Has anyone found NYLON clips? I heard somewhere that the originals were nylon & were less damaging to the mldg & paint.
