I use Photobucket as there's no limits like we have on site here..
Hover your mouse pointer over the pic you want to post ,then copy the IMG Code that opens below it.
Post the copied IMG Code and your pic should show up in your post.

Hint... Can't Post a pic in a "quick reply"... And for a new post, I've always had to come back and edit the original post to add the pic after the fact...

I just posted this in a quick reply.

The software here recognizes the code, wherever it is.

You need the url of the picture itself, and you need to wrap it in code.

Wrap it in code means to put certain characters in front of and after the url of the pic. Codes start out with an open bracket.

[

To post a pic, the "code" is an abbreviation of the word image

img

Then you need to close the code with a close bracket.

]

the "[", the "img" and the "]" go before the url of the pic, and after the pic, you need to tell the software where the end of the code is with a close image code, as such...all in sequence with no spaces...

[/img] <----- like that.

So you need and you need on either side of the url of the picture you want to post.

And Photo bucket does all the formatting for you so all you need to do is copy & paste, NO opening or closing tag needs to be added by you.

Now IF you want to have different words be a hot link to a picture, such as in your signature (pictures are not allowed in signatures) you have to use the "[*URL=" opening tag and [*/url] closing tag but no [*img] tag.

example:
[*URL=http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s228/deancall/CHEVELLES/6_10_06004.jpg]MY own words HERE[*/URL]

(without the "*" 's.)
MY own words HERE (http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s228/deancall/CHEVELLES/6_10_06004.jpg)

IF you use the little "insert image icon" above (not available in quick reply, which I think is what 71-454 was referring to) it automatically puts a http:// as the beginning of the link for you so if you're not careful you wind up with two "http://'s which will not work.

Of course, you can always add a thumbnail attachment to a post too IF the file size is not too big, which is a subject for a totally different set of instructions. :D

Which ever way you do it, please resize the picture width to around 800 ppi so we don't have to scroll back and forth.

{EDIT #11} I was wrong, the "insert image icon" IS available in the quick reply :o
I guess it's just the smileys that are not available.
(I never use the quick reply) :o
