I have 2 quick questions about the top on my 65 convertible. Thanks
1. Does the back window go all the way down to the metal or is there a strip of material below the window? I've seen it both ways so I'm not sure
2. Can you have a glass back window, or only plastic?

mine goes all d way down to pinchweld moulding. i have not shopped for tops much but for 65 i only found plastic. however, you might be able to find glass. just stand by for a bit someone will chime in...

Mine goes all the way down also.I think the glass ones don't go all the way down and are only available with the higher end canvas material.

Thanks for the info guys. I do plan on going with a canvas top and I like the look of the window going all the way down. I wonder if they can do canvas w/ glass that goes all the way down? I'm guessing this won't work when it folds up.

I did find a manufacturer of tops that will make an 66 con top, but I have gone nuts trying to find his name to give you here. I googled "glass rear window 1966 A body GM" to originally find him. His cost is very reasonable.
The none of the factory tops had glass so weather you order glass or not will depend on how original you want the car.
Best of luck,

I had a new top for my '65 done a couple of months back. The old one was glass and had the strip of material under it and the new one is plastic and goes all the way down. The guys at the shop did great but it needs to be stretched a bit, it flaps pretty good on the highway. I'm about the only guy who wishes he had a hard top!
