My boss has a couple of bfg comp t/a's 255/50/16 and said if i wanted i could abscond with them whenever. OS the question is arer thre backspacing differences between coupes convertibles and wagon/elcaminos? If no then i should be according to jeffk's posts in past threads , 16*8 w/4.75 bolt circle, and 4.5 backspacing, and have no rubbing issues at all. Anyway going to buy some inexpensive wheels when i get the specifications nailed down. Thanks in advance for any expertise laid down below this post.

That tire and wheel combo should fit fine,Dan. Chevelles and El Camino can use the same backspacing figures.

Thanks clint, good to know...
Hmm... the tire guy said i should go with 5" backspacing, but I trust you experienced folks more i think...

An 8" wide rim with 4.5" backspacing has a zero offset. You could run 5" backspacing with a 16x8 wheel but it's not necessary.
