Sorry had to post, I recieved my new Boyd Coddington's today The Nemesis 15x8 all around. I just finished mounting & balanceing. I chose the Dunlop GTQ Ft 245-60-15 Rr 275-60-15. The rear tires realy look tall, wide, I mean big! They look as if they belong on a truck! I hope they look OK on the car!, 1972 SS BB. Any calming words, running same combo? My car is in storage will not come home for at least 2 months graemlins/sad.gif

275x60's will look good. I just took off those size tires to replace with 295x50's to add a little more width myself. So, I think you'll like it IMO.

They will look fine and fit well in your wheel wells provided you got the right backspacing (4.5" - will work good and fit fairly centered IMO and I believe no problems arise with 5". If you got less 4" or less - they will be close to the lip from my experience with that size tire and 4.5" bs on my 70SS.

Also just a note a warning... you speedo will most likely be off with that size diameter tire... I know mine is.

Hey Gallant did those 295 50's go on a 15" wheel in a regular wheel opening with a 67 rearend? Could you give some specifics? Ralph

Sorry, don't know exactly but some where around 5-7 mph. I know it is off but never been a problem to find out exactly cuz I don't genrally drive fast... just keep pace with the traffic or a little slower. I thought there was a posting one time where there was a web site that you could plug numbers in and it would calculate stuff like that. Maybe someone will chime in. They make speedo gears that you can buy to get it back to normal. As I understand, this is done by trial and error until you hit on the right one. I am sure somebody has done this... just not me... I live with the error

Robert is your speedo showing faster or slower than you are traveling? Oh ya my wheels have a 4.5 BS 15x8 so from what you have posted they should fit no problem.

Got the 295s (radial TAs) on 15x8 draglites right now. 4.5 backspacing. Just ordered 15x8 rallyes through wheel vintiques with same offset (want something more original looking). Fit is tight, but it works without rubbing. FYI, I know the rearend is not stock though. The drivetrain was missing when I got the car and am now running a beafed up 8.5 10 bolt. Not sure if it's stock width for 67 Chevelle SS.

Gary,

I don't remember exactly as it has been a while since I drove it (in storage) and I don't even pay attention to it any more but my recollection is that I drive 50 MPH in a 55 zone

do a search on "tire calculator" for speedometer and tire conversions.
