What are some of you out there with 13" brakes using for a spare tire? I've heard of C4 Corvette temporary spares, any other ideas?
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Steve

What wheels do you have on your car now,Steve?

Since the later model C4 Corvettes came with 285/40's as standard equipment, those spares would be the way to go,,,if you can find one.

Since changing a flat on my Elky would be an interesting process, due to its true knockoff wheels,I'm wondering about the best way. A C4 spare is one idea.

Careful if you have a posi unit. You'll want to get a tire size with the same overall diameter - or as close as possible.

Maybe start searching for a another rim like yours that is scratched up or has a slightly bent lip that still holds air fine and stopping by a tire shop that has a wore out tire close to your size that fits the rim. I did this on my T-bird, I found a 17x9 that was matched to mine with bent lip for 22$ on ebay, and the local tire shop gave me a 255/45/R17 that has some tread left for the cost of mounting/balancing the tire! I ended up with 37$ spare tire/wheel combo that works perfect!
