Holley is having a 3 day "LS Fest" at Beech Bend this weekend. Yesterday they had the Car Craft Engine Swap Challenge. 2 teams had to drive a car in, take the engine out, install a LS6 (LSx, not big block) engine, install a Holley HP ECU to run the engine, start it and drive the car. First one done wins.

The one team did this in a time of about 38 minutes, start to finish! They sure were prepared. It was awesome to watch these guys do this that quick!

I drove all the way up to Paducah, KY yesterday...I had forgotten about the Holley LS event or I would have dropped in on the return trip. :mad:

Someone should put the video of this up, so anytime someone asks about how to swap in an LS, just point them to a 40 minute video.. :-)

What kind of cars where they?

One was a 69 camaro and the other was a 70 or so Cutlass I believe. Probably have the year wrong on that.

I was watching to see how the SAM guys did...then I saw where they were the only car in their class. I guess that makes them #1!!!

What's also cool is after that got done, Air Ride decided to do a suspension swap on the spot. They autocrossed the car the way it was with the new LS6 engine, swapped in a complete air ride suspension in 3 hours, then autocrossed it again. I didn't see it but I guess they beat on it about as hard as you can.

they made a post over in pro-touring,, IIRC they shaved 19sec off from stock
