I've decided to put 17" rims on my 1966 Malibu. It's got a 10 bolt rearend. I've searched around and found that a 17x9.5 rim w/255 40 r17 tire on the back with a 5.5 inch backspace and 17x8 rim w/245 40 r17 tire on the front with a 4.5 inch backspace will fit. I found this from MARINA66SS. He has a 69' rearend in his car though. I know these are wider, but he says he has 2 inches of clearence on the inside, and 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch from hitting the fender on the outside. With these specs, I believe that I will be an inch closer on the inside, but an inch farther away from the fender. I plan to lower the car 2 inches in the rear and 3 inches in the front. Will these rims fit alright?

Thanks
