I want to buy a set of wheels for my 1969 chevelle. Wider is always better! But can I fit 17x11 with a 5 1/2 backspace and 315/35/r17. I got some info that had this. Anybody can post anything on the net,so Before i spend alot of money having these wheels specially made will it fit?

64-67 All 8 inch wheel width 4.5 inch Section Width:245, Aspect Ratio: 15=60, 16=50, 17=40, 18=35
68-72 15" 15x8 4.5 inch 255/60

I don't think 5.5" is going to work. Here is shot of a 17X11 with 6" of b/s and the fender is rolled and still sits right on top of the tire. It is pretty low too, maybe if you kept it up quite a bit it would work. Might look funny though. http://www.jackazzmotorsports.com/images/reartire.jpg
