I´s there any one who knowe witch wheel size will fit my 1972 Chevelle SS all stock (Max Tire and wheel size, with backspace). I´m about to order new Centerline Warrior wheels but i haven’t received my new front inner fenderwells, so cant measure on my own car.
My hopes i´s that 15*10” with 5” backspace wheels and 275*60*15 tires will fit rear. And 15*7” with 3,3/8” backspace wheels and 225*60*15 tires at front. Please help!!

I had 275/60/15's mounted on 8" wheels with 5" backspacing matched with 235/70/15's on 7" wheels with 4" backspacing for a while. Both about 28" tall. Fit fine and looked like this......

They were a little close to the front of the wheel well when turning, so I switched to 235/60/15's. Sat a little lower and had plenty of clearance. 8" wheels with 5" bs paired with 7" wheels with 4" bs give you the same look as far as reveal, etc. That was important to me since they were rallye wheels. Wanted the trim ring depth to be the same front and rear.

I just changed the rear of my '69 from 15x10 5" BS with 275-60/15 to 15 x 8 4.5" BS with same 275-60/15. Although the 275-60 did fit on the car with the 10" wheels, I had to trim the inner lip back even with the wheelwell moulding. (My car sits at stock rear ht.) Also, I think the 10" wheels were a little too wide for the 275's and were contributing to some traction problems I have. On the 10" wheels I had to run the tires at around 30# to get a complete footprint from the tire, any less and I would have a very faint tire mark from lack of contact with the middle of the tire. On the 8's, I run 26 - 28# and get a good black footprint the whole width of the tire.

Per BFG's tire chart, it supports GRN69CHV above with 7.5-9.5" rim width recommended. The P275 60R tire on a 8" rim with 4.5" bs fits the rear with no rubbing problems and fills the wheel wells nicely. I think that, with the P235 60 tire on the front would work (but others need to chime in with that bs of 3 3/8"). Also with a 28" on the back and a 26.1" on the front it will give you that subtle aggressive forward lean. I have the P275 60's on the back of my 70 and P215 70 14" (25.9") on the front and I like the stance. Click on link below to see.

When I had 235/60's on my 72 Chevelle I used 15x7's with 4 1/4"bs and they fit perfectly. I now have the same size tires as Robert except my front tires are 15's instead of 14's and have to agree that they give it that muscle car look.
