I have a crate 572 with the 850 demon carb with electric choke. it was not getting power so i switched the power source. now the choke box on the side of the carb gets very hot but the choke is still not working. any thoughts or ideas?

Is it not opening or not closing? Can you work it manually? Does the plate move when you turn the adjustment?

The main problem with the choke is the word "Demon". I could never get the choke on the Demon I had to work consistently. Holley, Edelbrock, Rochester, never a problem.

My right foot got real good acting as a choke.

Does the choke thermostat have 2 terminals on it or just 1, if it has 2 one is the + 12 volt terminal and one is the - ground terminal, if it only has 1 terminal then it is + 12 volt terminal and the ground is obtained by the choke housing mounting surface touching metal portion of choke thermostat outside perimeter.check your power and grounds and adjustment of choke thermostat

Demon does not bother to install a choke pull-off. Thus the major problem with Demon chokes.
