What do you guys think about these? I would like to put 17s on my El Camino, and would like to know your thoughts. Quality, clearance, etc. Also, which ones would look best? Hugger orange with black ss style stripes and black vinyl top.

I'm not a fan of either. Seems like those factoryish wheels would look weird in large sizes.

17" ralleys look very nice. Most of the resto guys have realized the advantage of 17+ sizes and are running the ralleys (can't let go of the resto look I guess). I think if you are stuck on the ralley look at least run some high tech sizes and take advantage of the handling/braking benefits.

I like the looks of the 17 inch magnum 500 wheels.
And think the black areas between the spokes would tie in nicely with your black SS stripes.
And since the 17 inch rally wheels have become so popular, thats another reason why I'd go magnums.

I would definitly like to put some serious rubber under my Elco. It has 15" warriors on it right now, and while they do look great on it, they are dated, and I do intend to make this a corner carver, as well as fast in a straight line. I purchased this from my dad, and we have been putting this together for quite a while. Another option I have considered is 17" Crager SSes. All of the Elcos my dad had back in school had cragers, and a modernized version of his old ride would be very cool. Too much. One thing at a time. Putting the six speed in this week.
