Anyone,
I purchased a new set of AR Torq Thrust TTO's AKA: the actual repops of the original 60's style Torq Thrust D's!! Saw them displayed at the MidWest GoodGuys show! Man... they looked great!
Anyway, I purchased 15x7's for the front and 15x8.5's for the rear on my 66. My tire size is P255r60 for the rear and P225r70's in the front. I was told I would not have any clearence issues with the rear 15x 8.5 rims. I currently do not have or want to raise the car. Will these fit my rear wheel wells with the tires rubbing? Any thoughts or knowledgable advise on this?

If you would tell us the backspace figures on those rear wheels,we might be able to answer your questions.

As Clint mentioned, the backspacing is important...
I fit 15X8 with 295s on the back of my 66 and 15X7 with 265s on the front, so there's plenty of room for your 255/225 combo, as long as the BS is right...

Thanks for the reply. I ordered them through NewStalgia Wheel out of Chattanooga, TN. this past weekend at the GoodGuys show in KC/KS. I did not specify the back spacing needed but told the rep they were for my 66. Advised him they needed to have good clearance with the car not raised.
The rep seemed like a good person and fellow Chevelle owner and a member of ACES. James told me I should not have any clearance issues. Can one of you guys tell me the proper or necessary back spacing needed? My sales receipt only list the rim size and lug pattern. Thanks again for the quick reply.

According to American's site, all the TTO's are 3 3/4" backspacing.

Guys,
It's obvious I did not do all my homework. I tried calling the vender today and they were closed. With the very strong possiblity of these coming factory standard with the 3.75 in back spacing on both 15x8.5 and 15.7's does anyone know if P255R15 in a 60's series will be able to fit under my 66 rear end without raising the back end?
I don't see or believe the 15x7's in the from will be an issue at all with the P225R15 in a 70 series.
Sorry for stupid after the fact questions!

I have ARE Outlaw I wheels on my 67 Elky, same 15x8 with 3.75 BS with 235x60 and they have very little clearance. I ran the same wheel/tire combo on my 67 SS for a number of years with a 68-72 rear (wider) and they did rub with anyone riding shotgun or in the rear. Fronts should be no problem but with only 3.75" BS on the rear, I'd be leary of too big a tire.

The backs wheels will rub for sure. I have a set of these. order the polised tt's they come with the correct back spacing [ 4.5 ] or run 15 by 7 all the way around with 225/60 front and 245/60 back
