We went down to Corona today and bought a set of great tires from a TC guy. We are in the process of putting the front end back together and are wondering if 255/60's will fit under front stock fenders. The tires will be mounted on 15x7 rallys. It looked like at one point there was some rubbing on the fender. We have done the body work and straighted the fender where they were bent to get extra clearance. Anyway we don't want to have to start over so if anyone knows if they will fit for sure it would be great to get some advice! Thanks, Jill

These would be rear tires on a Chevelle. I think you're going to find that they're way too big for the front unless you're going for that NASCAR look.

With the right wheel backspacing, that size tire will fit on the front. A number of TC'ers are running them. What year car? That makes a difference.

My car is a '69. The back tires I bought today are 275's I actually wanted something a little smaller in front than the 255's but.... it was a great deal. The car came with mis-matched 235's all around, and I was thinking of using 2 of them for the front but they really do need to just be retired smile.gif With reference to the backspacing aren's all 7" factory rallys 3-3/4? If they aren't I don't know at this point. Thanks, Jill

Hi Jill !
Glad you like the tires. I ran those on the front of my car and I should have shown you how the fit in the fenderwells.
They aren't as big as they look under the fender but the fit on your 69 might be a little different. I also lowered the front 2" and I never had any rubbing.
Anyway, here are a couple of pix of how those 225's looked on my 71.

I'm running 255's on the front and love'em. No problems with rubbing.

Hi Tom, Thanks again for the tires! I can't wait to put them on smile.gif The engine is done as of last night so hopefully it won't be too much longer. Thanks for the pictures the tires looked great on your car. I would like to lower the front of my car too, I like that raked look. Hope Lance knows how to do that! It was nice meeting you and you have an awesome car we both thought your dash was very cool too. Gave me some good ideas smile.gif Take care, Jill
