: Possible to Patch cloth top?

My convertible Toyota Solara has a cloth folding top. A staple has made a small hole in the cloth top along one of the frame ribs. Is it possible to patch it? The top needs to be replaced. I am trying to delay having it done because of $$$ issues. Not a Chevelle question, but I do own a 1965 Chevelle convertible, if that helps.

If it's just a small staple hole or two it seems like a glue product that dries clear could do the trick? Super glue or a flexible glue product? Gorilla glue? Maybe even a good dab of good old Elmers in each pinhole.
Or you could get some waterproof flexible fabric and spray adhesive a patch from the bottom unless there is a liner in the way.

Here's what I found doing a search:

HA!
Duct tape... it is amazing what duct tape will fix... my lawnmower rear lower crossbrace bolt snapped and the crossmember was dragging, I hit it up with a few wraps of tape and it worked to hold up the crossbrace! Well it worked for a while until I noticed the rear was spreading and was dragging again, I jerry rigged it with a bolt and hopefully it will last a while longer- old school Craftsman high back wheel push mower... the deck is rusting out, I'm just waiting for the motor to fall through (not that bad yet).
Gonna spring for a good self propelled mower...

I would use a small amount of clear 100% silicone caulk. it will stick to the fabric, remain flexable, water rezistant and last a long time. you can use the rest of tub around your bathtub
