i'm looking into buying single or double ? adjustable shocks . my car is a 66 beaumont , 427 , 4 spd , 12 bolt , 4.11's , spool , 33 spline , ford ends , main use would be street/strip , but with a possible gear change in the future it would be nice to have a smooth ride . i'm looking at 12 & 24 setting qa1's or strange coil overs with the kit going in the rear . would you guys think i really need the doubles in the rear , cost versus a little better et ? . also would a rear coil over setup in the rear be better or worse than the stock shock location for the strip ? i'm thinking a coil over setup would give you a little more tire width with the stock shock brackets cut out . i'm going to be frame notching 1-1/2 '' each side . also from reading what is the downside of qa1' single adjustables ? open to any other info on the other brands of shocks . any info would be much appreciated

i went with the single adjustable varishocks and they fall in at the same price point as the qa1's. if youre really good at tuning, then a double adjustable would be awesome. but for me, i think btwn springs, bar rates, shocks, rear suspension adjustments..... im going to have my hands full with the single adjustables alone.

I have QA1 double-adjustables all around. But, I run my wagon on the street, auto-x, road courses, open road race events, and I plan to take it down the dragstrip too. Because I do so much stuff, I need that range of adjustability.

But, it is really cool to tweak with the settings and fine-tune it...even on the street. It's impressive how smooth and cushy the ride can be, and with a few clicks, it's ready to rock. I like them a lot!
