I just picked up a '67 concourse wagon. I want to use 8" corvette ralleys since I already have a set. The tires are 225/70/15 and they all scrub. Can I just go with a shorter tire or would it be the wheels?

When you say "scrub", do you think its from the tire height? I have run 295/50/15 (rear) and 265/50/15 (front) on 66/67 Chevelles with no rubbing, and even extremely lowered. Tire height wasn't a problem...

True "Corvette" rallys are not the correct offset for maximizing the tire size... Are the tires just rubbing on the outside?

you have me wondering now. You think the wheels are the problem? I know the height is 27.3". I haven"t really had the chance to check it out ,I just assummed it was the tires. The ralleys are from my '77 corvette and they're 8X15.
thanks for your reply I will check it out these weekend. I have a set of regular steel wheels that are 15" would you know what tire size to go with? It's just a cruiser,I dont need a lot of tire. I would like to keep the speedo as accurate as possible.
