Im getting alot of conflicting advice on choosing a serpentine setup for my 67. I want to use the Alumitech radiator with low profile 12 inch fans. I also would LIKE to get a true Serpentine setup such as the March Ultra Drive, VA Frontrunner, Concept One Victory, or Billet Spectialties. Ill be using a Vintage Air AC setup and remote powersteering. I've been told that none of the system will work withoug core support modifications. Is this true? Do any of you guys have any pics with true serpentines systems in these cars?

Here's my 1966 Chevelle
454, with correct Big Block Frame Stands.
Original Style Harrison Four Core Radiator
Vintage Air Front Runner
Dual 12" Electric Fans, Slime Line From Southern Rods (http://www.southernrods.com/categories/heating-and-cooling/fans/products/product-43.html)

I used the Southern Rods 12" Fans. They are approx 2-1/2 inches thick. I fabbed some brackets out of 1/2" square tubing and some steel dowels, then had them powder coated.

You can see here that you have approx. 4 inches between the pulley and the radiator face.

I don't know how the thickness of the Harrison Radiator compares to the Alumitech unit. But I could get you a measurement from mine.

Your 1967 Core support is also different from a 1966. But you should still have enough room because the '67 core support is straight across and the '66 bends in the center towards the engine. But someone can double check me on that.

Thanks for the pictures. That really helps. Im pretty sure the harrisons radiators are the same thickness as the alumitech ones. Do the frontrunner systems use a long waterpump?

I am using a Ron Davis Racing radiator and twin 16" spal fans. Concept One serp system with sanden ac compressor. Everything fits great and looks even better. I have a 72... So I'm not sure what the fitment differences are.

There is plenty of room on the 68 to 72 models so it's not a issue there
but with big blocks on 64 to 67 the problem is room
Steve if you post this in the heating and cooling section .. there are plenty of guys with my set up and serp systems that may post pics and info .
to the backs of the motors is the inly issue with belts and pulleys the unit is 5.25 inch to backs of motors from core support .
see the last pic on this page .

Shouldn't be a problem.

At 5.25 inches the guys at Concept One assure me that their Victory Serpentine setup will work. They also told me that I can use their kit with the integral PS resevoir without worries of it hitting the steering box. Frank at Prodigy Customs says the March Style Trac will work as well. Im just not a fan of the Style Trac's looks and the Ultra Drive will not work due to steering box issues. I think I'll give Concept One a try with Dons low profile fan setup and order my Vintage air AC from Frank. All these guys have been tons of help.

Ok heres an update. I installed the Concept one kit on my engine last night and have no problems to report. Everything fit perfect without any persuasion at all. Instructions are excellent. The only problem is that this kit makes my valve covers, air cleaner, and dirty old carb look awful. Hopefully Ill get the chance in a few days to test fit this into my frame and make sure everything clears. Especially the powersteering. http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/317millhand/atv017.jpg
