Hello all, I finally took delivery of my '84 El Camino and figured it's about time to post up about it.

here's the introduction thread...

Now that she's in my hands, I started lifting some of the carpet and realized Fred Flintstone must have been a driver on a regular basis as I can clearly see pavement from inside the car :(, but I won't let that stop me from following out with my plans for the new found endeavor :D

First off, the interior will be stripped, and repairs will need to have made to the floors, haven't decided if I'm just going to cut the cancer out and pound some steel close to the shape, or actually purchase floor boards, but since this is a budget oriented build and plan on making this a resto-mod rather than trying to make her 100% original, the latter may be the case.

I would like to shave the chrome trim for starters, and have thought about shortening the front bumper so it looks more "molded" to the body since the fender extensions have completely disintegrated - haven't given much thought to the rear bumper yet.

The hood is completely shot in the typical front area, in fact have to be careful while closing it, or the rust might just pinch ya lol.

Anyways, I will get some more pics up as I get around to inspecting more of the car, but she really seems solid underneath as far as the suspension etc.

I am the second owner, and the chassis has 348,901 miles on it, and this is at least the third engine she's had. When I got the title, it is barely hanging on by a thread, and still has the lien release from the original lender lol.

Pics coming shortly...
