hey guys probably already been answered a million times but... I just bought a set of cragars ss 15 x 8 for the rear 15 x 7 for the front of my'72 The guy at the tire store said 235/60/15 in back and 215/70/15 in front. T/A's I want to go wider in back but don't want any problems. Could I go 265/60/15 in back without any modification? Could I go bigger? Any suggested combinations? I am really excited because I'm getting rid of the 215/75/14 all the way around. The car looked like a low rider. I want it to stand up. Thanks for your help. Great site.

I have 15x7 and i am running 235/60/15. I want to get 15x8 in the rear, then ill put 295/50/15. I have a 71 ss and they say this rear combo fits nice. I believe the 235/60 are 26.1 inches in diameter and the 295/50 are 25.9 inched in diameter. Hope this helps.

See my sig for my 72. 15x8 w/ 275-60-15's on the back. Fit fine (new springs, stock ride height. Wheels needed 4.5" of backspacing to do it though.

What BS do you have on the Cragars?

you can also put 245/60/15's on the front. check out my pics of the camaro. they have the 245's on 7" wheels and look and work great. if you look at my back i have 255's on 7" but i do not know if they will clear up front. good luck tommy

I'm running 275/60/15's in the rear and 235/60/15's in the front. Seemed to be the consensus around here for what alot of people were running. I would have liked to go to the 295/50/15 but you loose alot of height with the 50 series tire.

The 275/60's seem to be pretty popular to go with, like what has been said if you use 4.5bs on the rear you will have no problems. I have 275/60's on the rear of my 72 with Weld draglites and for the front I used 215/70's to get that big n' little look. A 235/60 will still give you a noticeable difference if that is the look you are going for, good luck. smile.gif
