I am just getting my 69 on the road this spring.I have just bought new rims 20"x8.5" front and 20"x10"with 5.5"back spaceing.I have not driven the car with the 20"s and I"m woundering which shocks to buy?should I go cheap Kyb"s or pricey Qa1's 12 way adjustables.I'm afraid the 45 ser./35 ser.may ride harsh.

I am running KYB gas-a-just or whatever they are called. I am also running air bags in the rear instead of springs. I still have not gotten it on the road as of yet, but i doubt you will ever get a comfortable ride with 35 series tires. I've got 22/12's in the rear and only a 275/35/22. Its the price to pay to look good. Air bags w/shocks are gonna make the ride alot smoother in comparison to convention springs and shocks, plus you can get it to lay out in the rear. Check out my homepage for some pics-

What did you do to the car to allow running a 12" wide rear rim?

I had to take a double take when I saw your girlfriend Miles. She looks identical to a girl I "Know" ;)

Well, the car is lower in the first pic becuase in that pic we are getting it set up for bags. That is how it'll lay out when the bags are totally deflated. The 22/12's in the rear well, i measured them yesterday and i'll measure them again tomorrow, im nearly positive they are 12's. I'll take a pic with a tape measure. I'm not sure of the previous mods done to this car, but I know the frame isnt notched nor is it narrowed. The wheel wells look stock. The size of the tires was something I had no say in, as I bought the wheels/tires from a friend and the tires have alot of tread left. Maybe when I get a mini tub going I can get some wider rubber for the 22's.

I'm thinking your 22's are 22"x10"s possibly.I've got 20"x10"s in the back with 275/35/20's with .5" of clearance between tire and qaurter and 1.5" tire to frame. Not that it matters the 22's look great, keep in mind when I measured my 20x10's they measure 21.25" by 11 outside to out side lip. This I did not realize when I orded my backspacing,I was hoping for a little more outside of tire.My drivers side tire has got a .25" between tire and qaurter panel, the lip on that qaurter is wider on that side.So yes I got lucky they fit with out triming. What size are going on front?

I hope nobody minds that I bring up an old thread. But do you guys have pictures and updates for these 20s and 22s?
