I have a 69 chevelle with 427 big block, Performance Distributor's HEI, and Holley 750 cfm carb. After starting it today it died, started back up and I took it for a ride - it died on road again and after a long crank time it started again and I drove it home. It died in driveway, after setting a few minutes and another cranking session it started up and I put it in garage. I let it cool off and it starts after some cranking but will only run about 2 minutes before dying again. Don't believe its a fuel related problem, have plenty of fuel in bowls and squirters. After it dies I do have spark. I pulled coil and theres no signs of burning, looks good under cap and I have checked all fuseable links. Any ideas or suggestions?

How's your battery? A near dead battery will do that - you'd think it wouldn't crank, but it will (mine did..) Gave the battery an overnight charge and it's good to go - had it sitting too long in my case.

Thanks for the responce, but the battery less than 2 yrs old and the alt. is charging 14.2 at batt. in trunk. The car sits a lot :(. but always unhooked and with a batt. tender. I did some more investigating and the spark plugs are fouled- black and sooty. Will pick up some plugs from work tomorrow.
