Has anyone attempted this? I would love to put 335/35R17 on the back and don't mind having to minitub the back. I don't want to mess with sectioning the framerail though. Is there enough room between the outer wheel well and the frame tofit this much tire?

Not sure I can answer your question but my 69 El Camino is running 335/35/17's on 17x13 PSE wheels on the rear,,with plenty of room for a lot more.
The car has been back-halfed,though.
My guess is you will have to narrow the rear frame section and tub it. If you do that, you can really go nuts with a mondo tire/wheel set-up.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Thanks Clint, I think I'm just gonna get a 335 and try it out.

Why not just measure from the frame to the fender? Then compare that to the section width of the tire you want to run.

to tight to measure, need mock-up to figure exactly what needs to move. 315's fit no problem and 335 are only another 3/4 of in inch.

I think the biggest problem might be the need for 17x12 rims as 335's don't really like anything narrower.

Clint-the spec calls for 11-13", you don't think the 335's will look right on 11's? I know you should always the widest rim possible but I already the 11's.
