Has anyone attempted to install the latest 10 spoke Camaro SS wheels on a Chevelle. If so, have you encountered any problems and do you have any pics??

You will need to run some pretty exspensive adapters to get those wheels to work on a chevelle. They have a deep back spacing. They are not a bolt-on and go wheel.

Any ideas of the exact backspacing, centerbore, and is it still 4 3/4" pattern or a metric pattern?
Thanks.

In the first photo the rims (2000 SS 275/40x17) are Photoshoped in but the second one it has a 1 ½ ” wheel adapters made from 6061T6 aluminum. The tire clears the frame with about ½” but is tucked in more then I would like it to. With a 2” adapter it would look better, centered in the wheel well. The fronts will work with a 1”-11/4” adapters.

This is what will work on my 70 Chevelle if you going to run them on your 71 Chevelle check your measurements first all Chevelles are not the same.

The bolt pattern is 4 ¾.

Check out these two threads <a href="http://www.chevelles.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=002519" target="_blank">Corvette wheels,

This guy Erik Jorgensen (http://pro-touring.com/featured_cars/Camaro/1969_Camaro/Erik_Jorgensen_69_Camaro/erik_jorgensens_69_camaro.htm) put them on a 1969 Camaro, he said the 12 bolt rear end out of a 70 Impala it is two inches wider than stock on each side so no spacers were needed to fit the 2001 SS wheels.

Thanks for all your help! Hey canxlr8; where did you get your wheels and spacers? Do you have any other complaints?

SLP www.slponline.com (http://www.slponline.com) usually has great deals on 4th gen wheels. I haven't looked in a while, but they couldn't be beat.

I am looking to do something similar to that, and I had a few questions if you don't mind. I have a set of 16x8 99 trans am wheels that I want to put on my Cutlass. The Back spacing on my current 14x7 wheels is 3.5", and the BS on the TA wheels is 6.75.

Now from my figuring, you should maintain the center line of the tire, especially since the new rims are only 1" wider, which would create only 1/2" extra on each side. Is this the correct way to do it, or do you just get an adapter to get equal offseting on the new wheels that you had on the old.
