Simon86 Jul 15th, 10, 12:39 PM Hello
As you have seen there is a pic thread for 64-65 pro touring chevelles. So I think the should be one for the 66-67 chevelles to
I donīt have any pics, but please show us the pics that you have.
Bad66Chevelle454 Jul 15th, 10, 3:09 PM I don't really classify it as pro-touring, but that's the best description that fits it. A description is on my webpage. :)

Ah yes, My baby... :(
Funny, because after being gone more than 3 years, I still don't have too many regrets from selling... Just a little twinge now and then when I see it...
I always worried that the buyer was just going to flip it, but he's actually a '66 enthusiast ( and a VERY nice guy), and based on his other cars, he'll do great things with my old convert. He's already done a lot of little changes to make it his own.

I checked out your website and it's full of great info and mods. I am curious what wheels you've had on the car. I saw a few different styles mounted, especially a 5 spoke, that I think would be cool on my 66 (it's in a picture on your site, SSR's on the front and this other particular 5 spoke style on the back). Care to share the Brand/Model.
Thanks,

StorminNorm Jul 25th, 10, 1:49 PM What exactly does Pro Touring mean?
Blitz Jul 25th, 10, 2:49 PM What exactly does Pro Touring mean?
It's like answering the meaning of life or "what is love?" but here's how I see it.
Pro-Touring is generally used in describing a car who's every function has been improved. Handling, horsepower, braking, driveability, creature comforts, etc. are modernized in some way, shape or form. P-T cars range from budget builds to high dollar projects. The easiest identifiable characteristic of a pro-touring car would be wheels (normally 17-20") and a lowered stance but...BUT...throwing on some 18's doesn't make it Pro-Touring just maybe "inspired by" (No offense to those that this statement includes). Generally, if you were building a Trans Am car with a 60's muscle car and modern components you're right in the heart of Pro-Touring. The are all kinds of interpretations though.
There has been discussion (and argument) on what HAS to be there and what doesn't but I hope that's a decent description. Like Pro Street was to drag racing, Pro Touring is to more of a road racing type car. Lots of times the goal is to be equal to or surpass the performance of a late model car.
StorminNorm Jul 25th, 10, 3:48 PM Thanks for the clarification. I am sure that with every style, there is an argument.
Blitz Jul 25th, 10, 3:56 PM Yeah. Guess it's just our human nature.
And for the record...you have a nice 66, no matter which category it's in.

Yelcamino Jul 25th, 10, 7:41 PM What exactly does Pro Touring mean?
A direct quote from www.pro-touring.com (http://www.pro-touring.com) ...
Pro-Touring: A classic muscle car with enhanced suspension components, brake system, drive train and aesthetics, including many of the amenities of a new performance car; developed to function as well or to surpass the capabilities of the foremost modern performance vehicle. Pro-Touring cars are built with an emphasis on function and are intended to be driven. Whether they are driven on the street, the race track, the drag strip, or through cones at an auto-cross is of indifference; regardless of the location, pro-touring cars are destined to be driven.

ColeZ28 Jul 30th, 10, 3:43 PM Here's my project I just started. I got it for a reasonable price, with a lot of good high dollar stuff already purchased. I really haven't decided what I want to do with the car. I am just putting together parts for it at this time, and I need to get it driving first. Then I'll start heading in one direction. I want a clean car that retains most of the original lines and feel, but has modern performance and drive quality.

Awesome look! Pro-Street look is where Pro-Touring was born from. Ofcourse, it's taken on a life of it's own. But if you notice the Pro-Street forum is a sub-forum to this one. That's the reason! :)
I remember back around 1995, there was a pro-street 1966 Chevelle making the rounds. It was Seafoam Green! It was pure intimidation! Slammed Stance, Fat tires in back. It inspired me! I had pics of it hanging in my office from a magazine. Stared at it everyday...
Does anyone remember who that was? Or does any one have any pics?

jackal396 Sep 6th, 10, 3:19 PM Thanks for the compliment, i am just getting it finished up, took about 5 months and have redone everything on the car except paint.
Talking with a local buider L&H Kustoms about buidling some headers and then it will be ready to fire.
I have had that truck awhile now and really enjoy it, good driver and people really like those year chevys.
