Hey guys on my 68 i'm considering running some really big meats out back just for the sake of being different and im wondering what kind of offset and the extent of tubbing id have to do to get this big of a wheel to fit? I have the michelin pilots in mind 345-35-18 and since its at the shop getting a cage installed, it'd be easiest at this point to mini tub it or whatever it'd take to gain more room. What exactly would you do when you do a small tub job like that? I know on a 15x10" you can run a 5.5" backspacing and clear everything fine on stock wheelwell, so what would the offset be for an 18x12"? Thanks in advance-

I'm no expert, but I think you're probably looking at needing your fenders widened slightly to fit a wheel that wide in there, along with the mini-tub. I'm putting 17x9.5" on mine, and I really don't have alot of clearance either to the inside OR outside of the fenderwell. I think some folks run 17x11 without any more than maybe rolling the fender lip, but I don't think 18x12 would fit without modifying the inner and outer fenders. with 5.5" BS you should clear the frame, but those things are going to stick out ALOT! If you try to tuck them under the car more, you'd probably need to narrow or notch the frame.

If you have the means, go for it...but if it was me, i'd probably go no wider than an 11" wheel and 315 series tires.

I run 17X11 with NO modifications and 313/35R17, I would think 18X12 would fit with very little modifications. I would guess a 2-3" mini tub would provide plenty of room, I am not sure about the frame rail, though, I'd have to look at mine to be sure.
