im sure this question has been asked before but im finding little information on google about it.
im looking for the cheapest disc conversion. what vehicles will be interchangeable for front and rear? im looking to make a run to several junk yards and acquire parts. i plan on bending my own brake lines to fit so none of that is a problem.

not sure about rear brakes, but on the fronts -- any 67-72 GM A-body (Cutlass, Skylark, Lemans, GTO, Tempest, Malibu, Chevelle, El Camino, etc.), 68-72 X-body (Nova, Pontiac Ventura, Olds Omega), and any 67-69 Camaro or Firebirds, would all have the same disc brake setups from the factory (everything between the A-arms, that is. Master cylinder and booster should also be correct from all the above). You'll need the brackets also, where the hard brake line meets the soft line, as they are different for a drum setup. Been written about many times on this website, and I know as I took a setup off of a 69 Concours wagon for my 64 El Camino. Don't forget about the possibility of a front spring being shot out if not careful. There's a LOT of tension on those springs! Best of luck and be safe...

good deal..thank you. so A-Body's and X-body's it is. I found out after looking around that I can use my old drum spindles if i just cut off the upper bolt boss by 1/5''. so that'll save some money. now i just have to figure out how to do the rear.. maybe one of those setups off an 80's gm car? like a cadillac or something.

I must correct myself. On the X-bodies, it's 68-74 years, sorry...

No need for Google.
There's an entire sub-forum devoted to disc conversions RIGHT HERE.

I saw an article awhile back on s10 rear disc brake swap in a performance Pontiac magazine. Hope it helps.
