I traded my 15x8 Cragars for a set of 16x8 Torq Thrusts a few days ago and need to get new tires. Will 255/50 16's give me a decent height, or will they put me low enough to place my collectors in jeapordy? I had been running 245/60 15's, and had plenty of clearance.

I have some old torq thrust styled wheels 16x8 on my 69. Rears are 255/50 and fronts are 255/55. Click on middle link in signature to see.
