: Wipers ( yes or no )
SS509 Jul 8th, 10, 10:45 PM Just Curious. How many cars on here that do not have Working Wipers. Maybe someone with more computer knowledge could set this up again as a POLL. Mine does not ( 1 ). ? Rough guess what it would cost to reinstall everything. Is there a company that sells a complete kit. Originalty not important.:beers:
Autoengineer Jul 9th, 10, 3:23 AM Yes on the wipers for me. I've been tempted to pull out the wiper motor to help clean up the engine bay, but even though I never take the car out when its raining, I've been getting caught in unexpected showers at least twice a summer now, so for safety, I'm going to leave them in.
502ci Jul 9th, 10, 6:14 AM Mines not a chevelle but no wipers for me...if I'm gonna drive it possibly in the rain then I throw a fresh coat of rain-x on the windshield, never had a problem.
SS509 Jul 9th, 10, 8:08 AM Thanks 502. I use the rain-x on all of my daily drivers but never even gave that a thought.
rocks66ss Jul 9th, 10, 8:57 AM I know everyone has different taste, Pro street or otherwise, but a car without wipers looks unfinished to me.

b-man Jul 9th, 10, 9:19 AM smoothed firewall.... so wiper motor gone.
Big hood hit the mount for the wiper arm; removed wiper arms and mounts.
avoid rain.
(Blowers dont like to suck in the water anyhow.....)
SS509 Jul 9th, 10, 9:31 AM Has anyone ever heard or seen a wiper motor not mounted on the firewall. I will say personally that my eyes never get drawn to the wipers unless unusual arm style or blades.
FLASHED Jul 9th, 10, 9:41 AM I dont know if you can do it on a Chevelle but my 55 Bel Air has the motor under the dash .And yes all my cars have wipers as they are driven in the rain sometimes.
Lilracr Jul 9th, 10, 9:46 AM I run wipers, also like RainX, but at times RainX just can't do what wipers do.
For more of a show car it would not matter as much, but I like to drive mine so it could get caught in the rain.
Kim57 Jul 9th, 10, 9:53 AM This builder in the Pro Touring section has moved his wiper motor. Go to page #9 post 122. I'm sure the builder can give you ideas on how he did it.

SoCal Bryan Jul 10th, 10, 1:47 PM I'm always impressed when everything works on a pro street car. It's easy to take stuff off, but sometimes much more difficult to get everything working. I kept my wipers. I was thinking about hooking up the squirters also but I've got to hook up my horn and reverse lights first.

davis95 Jul 10th, 10, 3:15 PM I just rebuilt the washer motor and once I got the whole wiper/washer system fully functioning I removed the wiper arms and relaced them with a set of bullets....love em!
SS509 Jul 11th, 10, 7:38 AM My car was strictly a race car most of its life so that is why they were taken off. I live in Florida where there are no vehicle inspections.
