: Summit Racing Lower Control Arms?
dng's67malibu Jul 3rd, 10, 12:51 AM Does anyone know if these are the "Chinese" brand Control arms? - Or like some other "Summit" parts they are bought by a reputable company (global west etc.) and sold as a Summit brand - Any helpful input appreciated Thanks

pist0lpete Jul 3rd, 10, 1:12 AM Going off the price one would hope they are more than just those chinese knockoffs.
JamesL0822 Jul 3rd, 10, 10:23 AM If the picture is correct they are not Global West and if you are planning on going with tall drop spindles you want to get control arms from the same company that makes the spindles or you may end up having to modify (voice of experience :p) At that price I would go with Heidts here's a link

For $8 more I don't understand why one wouldn't just buy the SPC arms. Much much better imo for the price.

I bought my CPP LCAs because I picked them up at less than half the price and they were "good enough" from what we knew 2yrs ago.
GenPac Jul 6th, 10, 5:18 PM I hope that photo summit used is not an actual pic of the product... if it is, looks like you'll need to relocate the shock. :(
Additionally, who would buy a product that there were no accurate pictures available for?
dng's67malibu Jul 7th, 10, 12:03 AM I have the opportunity to pick-up some used ones at a good price - so just wondering if anyone had any experience with these particular control arms - the picture is "a respresentation of the actual part" -
BMR Sales Aug 4th, 10, 9:44 AM If you are concerned about getting an "American Made" set of A-Arms.
BMR Fabrication offers a set of Lower A-Arms manufactured in Tampa, Florida and also available through Summit Racing for only $10.00 more.

mp4659 Aug 4th, 10, 12:37 PM I think the "cheap chinese brand" control arms you are thinking of are these

the uppers don't interest me in the least...but I have to admit the lowers are a bit tempting
ed1le Aug 4th, 10, 12:46 PM What about these?...http://www.southwestspeed.com/?sec=view_part&id=28400
I sent them an email asking if they're U.S. made or imported.
ed1le Aug 4th, 10, 1:16 PM Ed,
The upper tubular control arms are made in-house in Arkansas. The lower tubular control arms are made by Procomp in California.

Looks like they make their uppers and use Procomps for the bottoms, which as far as I know, not made in California...

Procomp in Calif., Fairly close by is like a warehouse. About 100% of there goods are made over seas, but not saying they aren't good because there lower and upper control arms seem to be very decent, and theres many sets on Chevelles in this forum, and camaros in the Camaro forum.
The summit arms are pretty expensive for a no name control arm.
