I'm looking at stepping up the wheel studs on the chevelle.
ARP lists 100-7701 (drum) and 100-7702 (disc)
I have Weld prostars.
My question is what should the stud lengths be. Has anyone done this and is the 3.165 (drum)/3.2(disc) long enough or to long.
Thanx, Mark

There really isn't a stud made that is too long unless you are using acorn nuts or some sort of cover plate. Go with the longer ones.
I use extra long ones all around on my Chevelle as between the disk brake rotor and the extra thickness of the aluminum wheels the stock ones are too short to meet the track requirements. Mine stick out from the nuts over an inch.
I had Moser studs in my Chevelle and Camaro and 2 broke on my Chevelle when trying to remove them with a 4-way (first removal after installation). On my Camaro one stripped on the first install one stripped out. Changed over to ARPs and they have worked great. I'm using the 100-7701s on my cars.
One last thing. If you happen to use Summit racing for lugnuts, be sure to run a tap through them. Their supplier's chrome process leaves some residual junk and they can cause stud issues.

Thanx for the tip Jeff.
Heard good things about the ARP...will order them and install when I tear down the brakes this winter.
I like to be able to stop this thing (especially with the wheels on)!
