64 that has been in storage awhile. I have power to starter, coil, fuse box. It will not turn over, I have no head, dome, dash lights. Radio doesn't work. But horn does ???? Any help??

Where the harness goes to the fire wall from the engin side there 2 plugs that go to the fuse box.Sometimes if you remove them and install them a few times things will start working.Sometimes you need to clean the termanals and put some dilectric greese on them.Good to check.

Pull the spark plugs and try to turn it over.
Did you install a new battery and clean the cables?

Thanks, I'll recheck the wire harness. But the strange thing is that I have power to the horn but nothing else.
It won't turn over & i've charge battery. Plus switched out to another battery just to double check

How long is "in storage awhile"? Inside or outside storage? When you turn the key, does it make any sounds at all? Clicking?

Try turning the engine over at the crank pulley bolt. If it won't budge, it has possibly rusted up on the inside.

Keep us posted.

Try removing the connector off the IGN switch, cleaning off the contacts and retrying it.

Look under the dash for evidence that a few generations of rodents didn't choose to build a home back there with all they pretty wires.

Remove the glass fuses on the fusebox, clean any rust off them, test them.
Do the same to the terminals on the block itself.

Unplug the horseshoe shaped elec connector on the sterring column and reconnect.

Everything except the horn is fed power through the wire that is connected to the horn relay and goes right to the fusebox, through a fuseable link.

If you have volts at the horn relay but not the fusebox, that's my best guess.

Yep, they do that

Ok, we have power, Ignition harness under dash had a cracked wire. All good!
Now car turns over but no sparks, power at coils + & - but not the center going to dist. Have power at points also. Replaced coil but same thing???

Its been a while before Ive messed with points.I toss em for an hei.The pos on the coil should have 2 power wires.1 will give it full bat power when cranking and it comes from the starter and the other comes from the balist resister and lowers the voltage. The neg on the coil will have a trigger wire comming from the distributor.Make sure the pionts are clean and set the gap at .030 when the cam in the dis is at its max lift.
{edit}I dont think you have a balist resister. The wire comming from the firewall should be a resistance wire lowering the voltage. If you do ever switch to hei you will need to run a good none resistance wire to the dist.

.030" is too much gap for points. The initial gap should be .020", then set final gap with a dwell meter while idling.

I forgot about using a dwell meter. Now I remember using a match book and the a dwell.Good to know.I want to put a points dist in my truck so itl start and my family can head for the hills when the big one hits in 2012.LOL Dont know if an emp will afect my starting system though.Maybe I can devise some sort of hand crank like the old fords had.LOL

I've actually used a matchbook cover in a pinch, they're roughly .020" thick. It's close enough to get it running until you can put a meter on it. Man, that was a long time ago.

Correct, matchbook cover for the points, match for the plug gaps.
