Hello, wanted to know if anyone can suggest a tire for me. I'm in the process of dumping way too much money into my '71 Monte Carlo and figured I might as well get some new tires too. Right now I have Goodyear Eagle GTII's, 245/50/r15 in the front and 275/70/r15 in the rear, they have less than 400 miles on them and are in good shape. I'm only looking to get new rear tires just for traction reasons. Going to be installing 3.73 gears, going to be running them with a powerful 506bb hopefully mid-11's, car I'm guessing weighs in the 3800-4000# range (all steel). Thanks for any help smile.gif

I suggest you get slicks for the track and keep your street tires for the street.

I'tll be the only way you'll get good traction at the track and be able to drive safely on the street.

MT ET Streets and Hoosier Quick Time pro are the popular slicks around here. They are both DOT slicks so you can run an street night and DOT classes at the track.
